This novel human cutaneous angiosarcome KU-CAS3 cell line is dervied from scalp primary angiosarcoma tissue. KU-CAS3 shows endothelial cell properties, with cobblestone appearance at confluence. These cells are CD31 positive, display tube forming activity, actively uptake LDL, express vWF, show high levels of adrenergic B2 receptor, VEGF1 and VEGF2 receptors. STR profiliing was used for cell line authentication. These cells have tumorigenic potential in vivo and are suitable for cutenaous angiosarcoma research.
