Description	Beta-catenin, an adherens junction (AJ) protein, is a component of cell-cell adhesion structures which are necessary for the creation and maintenance of epithelial cell layers by regulating cell growth and adhesion between cells. ?-catenin has an important role in cell adhesion, bridging between cadherins and actin cytoskeleton. It is widely expressed in many tissues and also been found in complexes with the tumor suppressor protein APC. In pathology, beta-catenin has an efficient role in pilomatrixoma (PTR), medulloblastoma (MDB), colorectal cancer (CRC), ovarian cancer, and tumor development.
