Description	Toxoplasma gondii is a widespread protozoan parasite of humans and vertebrae animals causing Toxoplasmosis. It is a facultatively polyxenous and heteroxenous protozoon that has developed numerous potential routes of transmission within and among different host species. The organisms potential routes of transmission are via undercooked meat or by contact with cat feces in contaiminated soil or kitty liter. In human hosts with a competent immune sytem, T. gondii infections are generally asymptomatic and chronic, with the orgaism remains in dormant tissue cysts often for the lifetime of the host. However in immunocompromised pateints, infection can lead to toxoplasmosis. The disease is chiefly characterized by the production of T. gondii tachyzoites which damages the central nervous sytem, and potentially be fatal if untreated
