Encoded by SLC10A1 gene, SLC10A1 is a sodium/bile acid cotransporter which exhibits extensive substrate specificity and is also able to transport a variety of non-bile acid organic compounds. It is dependent on the extracellular presence of sodium. This protein family includes integral membrane glycoproteins that take part in the enterohepatic circulation of bile acids, which are the catabolic product of cholesterol metabolism; therefore, SLC10A1 is essential in cholesterol homeostasis. The antibody is able to recognize human SLC10A1 internal sequence amino acids 107-156. Anti-SLC10A1 Antibody is useful in studies in monitoring enterohepatic circulations.
