Description	Prostate specific acid phosphatase (PSAP) is a serine protease and it is a glycoprotein of molecular weight 100 kD and secreted at high concentrations in the prostate gland. PSAP measurement is clinically significant because its level often found to rise in the serum in prostatic carcinoma cases. By immunohistochemical detection PSAP has been found to be localized within the secretory vacuoles of the prostatic columnar epithelial cell. PSAP activity is found limited to the ductal or acinar columnar epithelial cells and adjacent luminal content
