Description Specificity: This Polyclonal antibody is directed against human eIF4EBP1 protein. The product was purified from serum by protein A chromatography. Expect reactivity with human eIF4EBP1. Cross-reactivity with eIF4EBP1 from other sources has not been determined.
Relevance: eIF4EBP1 (eukaryotic translation Initiation Factor 4E Binding Protein 1) recognizes and binds the 7-methylguanosine-containing mRNA cap during an early step in the initiation of protein synthesis and facilitates ribosome binding by inducing the unwinding of mRNA secondary structures.
