Specificity: This Polyclonal antibody is directed against human ACOX2 protein. The product was purified from serum by protein A chromatography. Expect reactivity with human ACOX2. Cross-reactivity with ACOX2 from other sources has not been determined.Relevance: ACOX2 belongs to the acyl-CoA oxidases family. It is a branched-chain acyl-CoA oxidase, and is involved in the degradation of long branched fatty acids and bile acid intermediates in peroxisomes. It oxidizes the CoA esters of the bile acid intermediates di- and tri-hydroxycholestanoic acids. Mutations resulting in the deficiency of ACOX2 lead to the accumulation of branched fatty acids and bile acid intermediates.
