Description	NKX3.2 (NK3 homeobox 2) is also known as Bapx1 (bagpipe homeobox homolog 1) human gene because of its similarity to bagpipe (bap) in Drosophila. It is a homeodomain containing transcription factor. Nkx3.2 plays a role in the development of the axial and limb skeleton and as a Transcriptional repressor that acts as a negative regulator in chondrocyte maturation. Nkx3.2 has an important role in distal stomach development which is required for proper antral-pyloric morphogenesis and development of antral-type epithelium.
