OX40 or CD134 is encoded by the TNFRSF4 gene, a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. Expression of OX40 is found in activated CD4 and CD8 T cells, but is absent in resting naïve T cells and most resting memory T cells. SensiStainTM Anti-OX40 Antibody detects the presence of OX40, which plays a major role in proliferation and differentiation of naïve T cells into a population of heterogeneous effector T cells, and has been found to promote proliferation and survival of CD8 T cells. Thus, OX40 and it's ligand, OX40L, is a key player in pathways involving the immune system such as long-term T-cell immunity.
