Human IL-2 reporter construct is stably integrated into the genome of Jurkat T-cells. The firefly luciferase gene is controlled by a human IL-2 promoter.
Mycoplasma testing: This cell line has been screened using the MycoAlert Mycoplasma Detection Kit (Cat. No. LT07-118) to confirm the absence of Mycoplasma contamination. MycoAlert Assay Control Set (Cat. No. LT07-518) was used as a positive control.
Host Species: human
Background
Interleukin-2 (IL-2) is a key cytokine important for proliferation and differentiation of T cells into effector T cells through interaction with the IL-2 receptor.
Application
The IL-2-luciferase Jurkat reporter cell line is suitable for monitoring the transcription activity of IL-2 in response to stimulants, and establishing cell-based screens for inhibitors that target specific IL-2 stimulating molecules.
Host Cell
Jurkat
Synonyms
