Description	CD31 (Platelet Endothelial Cell Adhesion Molecule) is a 145 kD cell surface glycoprotein that was originally defined by a monoclonal antibody which is bound to endothelial cells and also to platelets. This protein may be a component involved in the interaction of endothelial cells with coagulation factors, platelets, and the subendothelial matrix. The antibody has been shown to be specific for CD31 and reacts mainly with platelets, monocytes, macrophages, granulocytes, and B cells. The other reactive cells are endothelial cells, histiocytes and glomeruli
